There were climate controlled cars, and an open air car which the little ones really liked.
Snacks and drinks were available for purchase during the ride.
I love trains and this trip was great. It was great seeing a gift shop and a model railroad in former baggage cars.
We loved the Polar Express! My 5 year old still (7 months later) believes we really went to the North Pole and continues to ask if we can go again every year.
A mostly outdoor museum -- the railroad is the greater part of the museum. The special event fee is well worth the few extra dollars unless you are really interested in trains.
Museum, real train ride, friendly volunteers full of jokes and fun facts. Was a great family day!
Wo PD recommend for anyone looking for an easy Saturday family fun day.
Didn't think it was worth the money, and in our case, the drive. We live in Tampa, so it took an hour. They have too many price tiers to choose from, setting you up for higher expectations. We went with first class tickets and there was nothing about the experience that warranted them. Everyone has to buy snacks and beverages no matter where you sit. And although the train is old, it could've been cleaner. The field where there's activities was ok, but you're only there for about 45 min to an hour. Not enough time! We could only take advantage of half the activities. First and last time we will probably attend.
